Election Day

The next reign of local leaders is expected to be named Saturday night, as Princeton’s 2022 municipal election gets underway.

Voters will elect a mayor, four municipal councillors, and three Princeton trustees for the Nicola Similkameen District School Board.

They will also choose a director for Area H, in the Regional District of South Okanagan, from between incumbent Bob Coyne and newcomer Mike Mazurek.

The two mayoral candidates for Princeton are incumbent Spencer Coyne and former councillor Doug Pateman.

There are six candidates for the four councillor roles. All councillors from the previous term are running. They are joined by political newcomer Arone Sheriland, and Langley Township Councillor Bob Long, who is not running in Langley this year and has moved to Princeton.

There are five candidates, including two incumbents, on the ballot for the three trustee positions.
